My first post here on this r/, and I understand that might not right topic here, but itā€™s mostly about languages and I tried to post it in ā€¦ Apps to find friends around the world - NOT dating/language exchange. So the question is: any sites/apps for iOS for finding friends around the globe or in your area? Not for the dating, not for the language exchange. Well, lang exchange not the main-main reason, but also good. I know few of them already, for example, ā€œHelloTalkā€, ā€œHelloPalā€ or ā€œAirtrippā€, but itā€™s not quite that. They are more for the language exchange, and people are using that for this purpose. Iā€™m Russian, I know English and Iā€™m studying Japanese and Korean (I know the first better than second), so I may help with two languages, but thatā€™s all everyone wants there. When I look for JP/KR speakers they mostly look for ENG speakers, so theyā€™re not good at that, and for sure, they donā€™t care about Russian. But I donā€™t really want to chat with a person and teach him something every couple of phrases. Iā€™d like to find friends, and if possible, itā€™d be great if they speak the same lang with me. Ok, for example, there is an app that allows you to find someone to befriend with, and thereā€™s filters where I can set up location, language, gender/age. And Iā€™m looking for JP/KR speakers and they speak ENG as well, but the lang exchange is not the main goal. The goal is to befriend, build a network, and what would be really great if you both are in the same city. Btw, Iā€™m living in New York now. Of course, itā€™s not like Iā€™m living in Moscow, and looking for friends at perhaps the main forum-site of USA. So, I will be really thankful if I will find any help and suggestions here.
